Day 22: A well-deserved and well-enjoyed rest

We slept in and took the day off to hide from the rain in a coffee shop, explore Springfield, and casually pedal to Ash Grove via a local bike trail. According to all, we missed the one real attraction in town: the headquarters of Bass Pro. Maybe next time.

Commercial street in Springfield

One of the longest foot bridges in the country! Good for crossing the railroad tracks
View from the bridge

If only the bike museum had been open!

Midday Peruvian feast

The proper complement to the meal. Guesses on the drink?

Perks of running into police men at gas stations: finding out that Ash Grove has a house they let cyclists use!

Valuable life skills? Opening a bottle of (Dollar General) wine without a corkscrew...

  1. Think that's a pisco sour, which would be a great complement to a Peruvian feast. The food looks delicious. Surprised you can even find wine at a Dollar General. Opening wine bottles without a corkscrew & making great meals from Dollar General cans of food have turned out to be valuable life skills!
